Installation and all test runs of VSC-2 are finished and a test mode period is started for our users spanning several weeks.
During this period interested users are invited to apply for test projects in order to get familiar with VSC-2.

Please apply for preliminary trial (test) projects on VSC-2 via this platform:

Please choose 'standard mode' on the 'request project' page and always specify 'test' as the project type.
We plan to enable creation of user accounts in the course of next week.

For projects on VSC-1 please continue to use the prior version of the "Vergabe Assistent" at https://service.zid.tuwien.ac.at/vsc .

Please be aware that all project applications (including user accounts) will be CLEARED before switching the cluster into production mode (ca. 2011/12). This is to avoid problems due to desynchronisation of the old and new application platforms' databases. Therefore, it is sufficient to provide only the necessary information: amount of storage, number of parallel cores, libraries and software required.

We will try to preserve all data in home directories on VSC-2 when switching to production mode. Please contact us, if you want to migrate the data accumulated in the testing phase to your production project.
